Christmas crafts

Hi from Emma, well December started and for the first time in years I had not even thought about Xmas, so I on  the first I spent about 5 hours making an advent calendar I sewed brown paper hearts together filled them with chocolates them used doilies, and numbers to decorate then I tried them to a gold frame we had, I think it turned out alright, I have also been making some stuff for my December daily album which is only 12 days but I still love the idea, I will share more of that this weekend, my mum made the christmas cake and pudding, on then on the 6th saturady my nieces came over and I made chocolate cookies with them and made homemade hot chocolate to go with them, and then on Sunday I made christmas cards while watching the vicar of dibey ....

Anyway merry christmas, I'll celebrating my birthday on the 11th and I'll more stuff at the weekend xxx

I love scrapbooking and christmas cards

Hi everyone, I'm back and ready to share some of my scrapbook pages, I love scrapbooking and have so much fun creating my little pieces of art to me the scrapbook pages are like my canvas and I really love this hobby, first up are the pages I created with maggie holmes flea market collection which is my fave scrapbook collection

My first page is my love list at 35 years old , my second is my all about me page inspired by shimelle laine and Paige Taylor Evans , I did journal on it since I took this photo.

Theses are pictures of the christmas cards I have made for the past few years

This year I hoping to make my cards on Kraft and using sewing again but my cards are going to be made with the things I have left over from last year .

Hello winter

Hello everyone, things have been a bit mad for the last couple of months , my mum has been ill and in and out of hospital, and there have been other things going on, anyway I'm back and I made a few things but I have a massive list of  things to make over the next few months, I have been listening to a lot of music esp the new Coldplay album ghost stories, which I love my favourite track is magic, you should check it out......

Hoop art

Hi there, been doing some crafting and I need to, because I have a pretty awful month to be honest, anyway I bought hoopla book last year by Kirsty neale, it's a great book but I made these from my own ideas, for my bedroom a mix of sizes using scraps of fabric and buttons, what do you think

Why I love baking

Hi, back again this time to share another of my loves baking, when I was a little girl my mum would make Black Forest gateau and I would love it, and would think who great it would be to grow up and bake myself, fast forward to 2012, I caught  nigella lawson making a devil's food cake , and so I got the recipe and made it and so it began.

This that very same devils food cake, I made it for my mums birthday, it was amazing , thank you nigella.

These are the lemon cupcakes I made for Mother's Day this year, from the primrose bakery cupcakes book I have, they taste so fresh and we're easy too.

   

Then for Easter I made choc cupcakes from the same book , and went a bit made with the decoration's 

And then this summer I made Eton mess cupcakes from the primrose bakery celebration book they had a cream cheese filling with fresh raspberry's and then they were topped with fresh whipped cream and crushed meringue

Why I love sewing

Hi there, one of the reasons I wanted to start this blog was because I wanted to share my love of art and craft, something I get from my mum who is the most talented woman I have ever meet, first up is my love of hand sewing, cross stitch and machine sewing .when I was a girl my mum made my clothes, and ever since then I have wanted to learn to sew, I bought my first sewing machine about a year ago a mini one from John Lewis and I love it to bits anyway this is some of my work, hope you like...

I made my oldest niece this fabric badge , I used the amy tan embroidery stencil for the number and used net and tutu trim she loved it.

Then for Easter this year I made a little fabric bunny as a present for my mum, I her called posie I also made her out of fabric scraps from old clothes.

For Mother's Day this year I made this fabric posie for my mum with leafs, I got the idea out of everything Alice, which is a great book, I used fabric scraps and she loved it.

And finally on my little machine I made this mad hatters patchwork tablecloth out of fabric from my local secondhand shop, I think it looks pretty for a first go.

Hi there, Emma here this pic is my first go with mr hues watercolors, I love the watercolor effect and I will need a lot more practice, but I love the pink.

I made these pretty flowers to go on a hoop sampler for a Christmas present, but they just look so pretty, I might just keep them for myself.....                                    

 They were inspired by sweetly smitten collection by sassafras lass, which i love....

Beginning my blog

Hi my name is Emma but you can call me Elsie, I started this blog because I want to share my love of  cake, anything that even looks like cake in fact I'm mad about them, my big love in life through is scrapbooking I adore scraping my nieces and loves, I get my inspiration from amazing women like shimelle laine Paige Taylor Evans and I am in love with the maggie Holmes line, I all so love to sew by hand mostly but I do have a machine, anyway I'll stop going on and on and just say watch this space..............
